Actress Jeon Jong Seo shared a heartfelt story about her father and her decision to live alone in the home filled with memories of her parents.
On January 24, a video titled 'Visiting Jong Seo’s House, Meeting Four Dogs, and Watching ‘EXchange’' was uploaded to the YouTube channel YOONJOUR. In the video, model Jang Yoon Ju visits Jeon Jong Seo’s newly decorated home, where the actress reflects on the history of the house.
Jeon Jong Seo explained that she originally lived in the home with her parents, but her father’s health gradually declined. “As my dad started having difficulty going up and down the stairs, we realized this place wasn’t suitable anymore,” she said. “When my father was diagnosed with a rare illness, assistive equipment began to be installed all around the house. My parents urgently moved to a place that was more wheelchair-accessible.”

She went on to share that her father’s condition worsened, and he spent his final days fighting the illness before passing away. “After my dad passed away, my mom and I stayed behind,” she recalled. “But my mom said she couldn’t continue living there, so I lived with her for a while. Then one day she told me, half-jokingly, ‘I can’t live with you. I need to live alone.’” Jeon Jong Seo laughed as she shared the story.
The actress also reflected on the changes she observed in her mother after her father’s passing. “I’m a night owl, but even though the house we lived in together was completely separated, my mom felt like a different person after my dad was gone,” she said. “For about two years, I realized how different my mom was with my dad by her side versus without him. After some time passed, she felt she could return to living on her own.”
Jeon Jong Seo added that after agreeing to her mother’s wishes, she returned to her parents’ former home. “When I thought about it, I realized I was happiest when I lived here,” she said. “I felt like I should live here again, so I eventually moved back.” She also revealed a wall filled with memories of her parents, drawing attention from viewers.
Meanwhile, Jeon Jong Seo lost her father in February 2023 after his battle with cerebellar atrophy. At the time, her partner, director Lee Chung Hyeon, was reported to have stayed by her side at the funeral.
