Korean band Dragon Pony has made a strong impression in Japan with a high-energy live performance.
On January 16, Dragon Pony met local fans at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo for the collaboration concert ‘youTopia vol.2 “Dragon Pony X KAMI WA SAIKORO WO FURANAI” in TOKYO’, also known as youTopia.
youTopia is a special collaboration concert series planned by Japan’s ticketing platform and concert organizer Pia, centered around the theme of an ideal world. Handpicked by Pia, Dragon Pony and KAMI WA SAIKORO WO FURANAI continued their collaboration in Tokyo following a previous show in Seoul, building a deeper connection with audiences. Notably, Dragon Pony raised immersion by communicating fluently in Japanese throughout the Tokyo performance.
That night, Dragon Pony delivered a setlist packed with the raw passion and youthful energy of imperfect youth. Their bold yet emotional sound, both refreshing and lyrical, translated seamlessly to the stage and highlighted their free-spirited rock band identity.
The highlight of the concert was the collaborative stage between the two bands. Dragon Pony joined forces with vocalist Yanagita Shusaku to perform KAMI WA SAIKORO WO FURANAI’s signature song “Kirakira,” delivering a fresh and memorable rendition. Yanagita Shusaku also sang Dragon Pony’s “On Air” in Korean, later naming it his favorite Dragon Pony track and selecting it as the encore song.
Following the successful collaboration concerts, Dragon Pony shared, “From Seoul to Tokyo, we feel like we’ve made truly precious memories. We learned a lot from our seniors and gained the courage to grow even more.” They added, “Seeing everyone come together through music was deeply moving, and it inspired us to share even better music with our fans. We sincerely thank our fandom Poyong and everyone who enjoyed the show with us.”
