BLACKPINK's Jennie is currently facing backlash for her recent 30th birthday celebration, which some are calling "dangerous" and "insensitive".

On January 17, Jennie celebrated her 30th birthday, marking the occasion by partying in a Tokyo club. The celebration was decadent, with a packed club, professional dancers, champagne, and sparklers.

However, clips of the celebration quickly drew criticism due to the common theme of sparklers in champagne bottles - which netizens are calling 'dangerous and reckless.'

Netizens called the mini fireworks an 'obvious fire hazard,' and many pointed out the similarities to the Switzerland bar fire that took place only 2 weeks ago. One viral post noted the similarities between the two incidents, pointing out that the fatal fire in Switzerland also happened because of fireworks being used in champagne. That bar fire, which resulted in 40 deaths and over 100 injured, led to the use of fireworks inside clubs being banned in Switzerland.
