
Actor and entertainer Lee Yi Kyung was notably mentioned during Yoo Jae Suk’s Grand Prize acceptance speech at the '2025 MBC Entertainment Awards,' drawing attention amid his recent departure from ‘Hangout with Yoo.'
The awards ceremony took place on December 29 at 8:50 PM KST at the MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was hosted by Jun Hyun Moo, who has led the ceremony for eight consecutive years since 2018, alongside Jang Do Yeon, marking their second time co-hosting together following 2020.
The Grand Prize nominees included Jun Hyun Moo, Kian84, Jang Do Yeon, Yoo Jae Suk, and Kim Yeon Kyung. The Daesang was ultimately awarded to Yoo Jae Suk for his work on ‘Hangout with Yoo,' making it the ninth Grand Prize win of his career.
During his acceptance speech, Yoo Jae Suk expressed gratitude to those who have worked alongside him on the long-running program. He said, “Thank you to HaHa and Joo Woo Jae. I also want to express my gratitude to (Mijoo) Lee Mi Joo, Park Jin Joo, and Lee Yi Kyung, who sadly had to leave the show.”
His mention of Lee Yi Kyung, in particular, stood out to viewers, as it acknowledged the contributions of former cast members following recent lineup changes. Yoo Jae Suk went on to thank the production staff and added that countless crew members work tirelessly each week to bring the show to air, while also expressing appreciation to viewers who continue to support ‘Hangout with Yoo.'
The heartfelt acknowledgment highlighted Lee Yi Kyung’s presence and impact on the program, even after his departure, resonating with fans who followed his time on the show.
