Former Fin.K.L member and actress Sung Yuri has stepped down from her home shopping show after seven months. Her departure comes while public attention remains focused on the controversy involving her husband’s legal case.
On December 1, Sung Yuri posted a message on her personal channel that said, “I will remember every moment we spent together.” She also shared a video that included clips from 'Sung Yuri Edition,' the GS Shop program she had hosted. In the footage, she appears alongside show hosts as she engages with viewers.
Sung Yuri had resumed broadcasting on April 30 through 'Sung Yuri Edition.' This was her first official activity in two years following the arrest of her husband Ahn Sung Hyun on fraud and bribery charges. At the time she halted her work, she wrote on social media, “I pray that the injustice surrounding our family will be clarified,” and then stepped away from public activities.
The program is no longer available on the GS Shop website or channel. Instead, the platform now highlights other shows such as 'Now Baek Ji Yeon,' 'So Yoo Jin Show,' and 'Han Hye Yeon’s Style Now.' Posts related to Sung Yuri have also been removed. After the final broadcast, Sung Yuri left a short farewell message and exited the program.
Her return earlier this year brought mixed reactions. Some viewers criticized her decision to resume activities because of her husband’s conviction. The home shopping channel also made some of her promotional content private in response to the debate. Despite this situation, Sung Yuri continued to appear on scheduled broadcasts until the program ended.
Sung Yuri married businessman and former professional golfer Ahn Sung Hyun in 2017. The couple welcomed twin daughters in 2022. Ahn received a sentence of four years and six months in prison in December of last year for accepting money and luxury watches in exchange for influencing cryptocurrency listings during the period between September and November 2021. He was taken into custody immediately after the ruling. He was released in June when the Seoul High Court Criminal Division 13 approved his request for bail.
Although Sung Yuri has stepped away from the home shopping program, she plans to continue her entertainment career. She is scheduled to appear on the upcoming tvN program 'A Hard Day.'
