Actress Song Ji Hyo opened up about her dating style and past relationship in a candid conversation.
On December 25, a video titled 'Christmas Party ft. Kim Jong Kook, Yang Se Chan, Ji Ye Eun' was released on the Song Ji Hyo YouTube channel. The episode featured a relaxed holiday gathering with her longtime 'Running Man' castmates.
During the talk, Kim Jong Kook looked at Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Ji Ye Eun and said, “We’ve been doing 'Running Man' for 16 years, so we know pretty much everything about each other.” He then brought up the fact that Song Ji Hyo had only recently revealed she had been in an eight year relationship, expressing disappointment that she had kept it a secret.
Yang Se Chan chimed in, saying, “That means she had a boyfriend the entire time since I first joined 'Running Man.'” Kim Jong Kook added with mock frustration, “She knows so much about us, but she kept her own life like that…” Song Ji Hyo explained, “It’s not that I lied. I just didn’t talk about it.”
When asked how she usually spent Christmas with a partner, Song Ji Hyo answered honestly, “To be honest, I couldn’t really celebrate it. During Christmas week, there are always events or shoots. For people in our line of work, that’s the busiest time.” She went on to reveal that she had never even gone to a romantic, atmospheric place with her boyfriend.
Surprised, Kim Jong Kook remarked, “Most guys panic whenever an event is coming up, thinking, ‘What should I do?’ Her boyfriend must have felt pretty comfortable.” Yang Se Chan added humorously, “She doesn’t even like wine or whiskey. Give her soju and her eyes light up. She doesn’t like expensive steaks either. Just a bowl of sundae guk with soju and she’s happy. She’s the ultimate value for money girlfriend,” drawing laughter from everyone.
Song Ji Hyo’s honest remarks offered fans a rare glimpse into her low key approach to dating and her straightforward personality off screen.
