SHINee member Onew issued a statement addressing speculation that he was connected to the so-called "injection auntie", an individual accused of providing broadcaster Park Na Rae with illegal medical treatments. Onew clarified that his visit to the clinic in question was solely for skin care.
On December 11, GRIFFIN Entertainment released an official statement explaining, “Onew first visited the clinic in Sinsa-dong in April 2022 upon a recommendation from an acquaintance, where the individual known online as the 'injection auntie' was employed.” The agency added that, given the size and outward appearance of the clinic at the time, “it would have been difficult for him to recognize the medical license issues now being raised online.”

Questions emerged on social media after it became known that Onew had given the individual a signed CD, prompting speculation about possible involvement in unlicensed medical procedures.
GRIFFIN Entertainment stressed, “Onew visited the clinic strictly for skin-care treatments, and the signed CD was simply an expression of gratitude for the service he received.” The agency added that it “deeply regrets that unfounded stories involving our artist are being carelessly amplified and distorted online.”
