Singer Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) candidly shared his anxiety after seeing empty seats ahead of his U.S. concert.
On December 18, a video titled 'Jung Ji Hoon’s Reaction to Seeing Empty Seats?' was uploaded to the YouTube channel Season B Season.
In the video, Rain revealed that he felt uneasy while preparing for his U.S. tour. “I was anxious while getting ready for the U.S. tour. When you perform in the U.S., ticket sales need to reach a certain level for there to even be a next show,” he said. “I quietly went onto the ticketing site by myself, and the seats were showing up in blue. Sold seats appear in gray. I honestly wondered, ‘Is it right for me to go?’ The sales started off much slower than I expected.”
Rain was seen letting out a deep sigh as he recalled the moment. He went on to explain that additional problems added to his stress. “There was another issue. The day before my concert, another artist had a show there. That meant the stage had to be completely reset within seven hours,” he said. “Life just felt exhausting. I kept thinking, ‘Why did I say I’d do this?’ And on top of that, it was in New York.”
However, once the concert began, Rain’s worries proved unfounded, as the venue quickly filled with fans. “I didn’t know this,” he said with relief. “In the U.S., ticket sales really pick up during the final week.”
Moved by the unexpectedly full audience, Rain reflected on his past with humility. “When I was younger and performing, I thought packed venues were just a given,” he admitted. “But realizing that people actually come to see me is truly touching.”
He concluded by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the fans who filled the seats and supported him despite his earlier doubts.
