Singer Lee Minwoo revealed the emotional moment surrounding the birth of his second child on KBS 2TV’s 'Mr. House Husband Season 2.'
The December 13 broadcast followed the intense and heartfelt journey of Lee Minwoo and his wife as they welcomed their second child, affectionately nicknamed “Yangyang,” after more than 33 hours of labor.
The episode showed Lee Minwoo rushing his wife to the obstetrics clinic in the early hours of December 7, three days past her due date, after she suddenly went into labor. Despite the urgency, a full day passed without significant progress, heightening the tension for everyone involved.
Lee Minwoo’s mother waited anxiously through the night for news of her daughter in law, unable to hide her concern. Overwhelmed with emotion, she prayed tearfully, saying she could only imagine the pain her daughter in law must be enduring and hoped she could give birth safely without suffering.
Lee Minwoo himself appeared visibly unsettled as he watched his wife struggle through the prolonged labor, even after receiving labor inducing medication. As exhaustion took hold, a touching video message arrived from their six year old first daughter. In the message, she said, “Mom, don’t be in pain, and please give birth to Yangyang safely. When Yangyang is born, I’ll play with the baby and help you a lot. I love you.” Her thoughtful words deeply moved Lee Minwoo’s wife, bringing her to tears and filling the studio with emotion.
Eventually, Lee Minwoo’s wife’s water broke, and after more than 33 hours of labor, Yangyang was born healthy, weighing 3.2 kilograms.
Lee Minwoo’s parents, who met their grandchild through a video call, could not hide their joy, smiling broadly as they joked that what was meant to happen had finally happened. The MCs watching the footage also applauded in celebration. Park Seo Jin commented on the baby’s tiny facial features, calling Yangyang adorable, while Eun Ji Won reacted with amazement, saying he got goosebumps from the moment.
Lee Yo Won added that it was remarkable how much had happened within a single year for the couple, expressing curiosity and anticipation for Lee Minwoo and his family’s new daily life in the coming year.
