Facing a 9-month-long "battle for truth" between the actor and the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, fans have officially launched a dedicated 'Fact-Check Webpage' (reportedly built using Notion).
While fans often use hashtags or press releases to defend artists, building an independent webpage specifically to verify facts is extremely rare.
The page, created by the 'Kim Soo Hyun Korea & Global Fan Union,' details the timeline of the controversy, summarizes key arguments, and updates the status of legal actions. The fans stated, "Here are the facts we have verified and recorded. We ask you to see for yourselves and make your own judgment."
The Scandal Context
The controversy began earlier this year when the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute broadcasted claims from the late Kim Sae Ron's family. They alleged that the late actress had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun since she was a minor. Kim Soo Hyun strongly denied these allegations in a personal press conference. Currently, both sides are embroiled in ongoing civil and criminal legal battles.
Fan Activities
This isn't the first time his fans have taken action. Around May, when the controversy peaked, fans filed mass lawsuits against hundreds of malicious commenters. Fans in Asia and Europe have also run outdoor advertisements and even rented theaters for 'Kim Soo Hyun screenings' to advocate for the truth in their home countries.
