Actress-turned-entrepreneur Goo Hye Sun has achieved back-to-back milestones.
Goo Hye Sun has been selected as a recipient of a special award from KAIST. Among the 19 teams recognized for excellence in the university’s newly announced cultural strategy QAIST, she was chosen for the Creative Talent category.
Currently pursuing her master’s degree at the KAIST Graduate School of Future Strategy, Goo Hye Sun was honored as part of the university’s evaluation system based on the five core values of its campus innovation strategy: QAIST (Creative Talent, Research, Globalization, Technology Value Creation, and Trust & Communication).
Recognized in the Creative Talent category, Goo Hye Sun recently launched a flat-type hair roller designed to improve the discomfort caused by standard rollers. The concept stands out for expanding beyond a simple beauty tool into a cultural narrative, while its eco-friendly design attracted attention by eliminating the bulky plastic frame found in traditional rollers—reducing plastic use by 80 percent.
Since its launch, the product has gained strong interest for its stylish design and the convenience that can be anticipated even without hands-on experience. It is currently sold through various online and offline retail channels.
Following the launch of her brand and now the special award from KAIST, Goo Hye Sun has marked another significant achievement. Having shown clear results in every field she has pursued, she is proving her potential as an entrepreneur as well. By connecting her signature delicate sensibility to practical product development and eco-conscious design, Goo Hye Sun has demonstrated her unique vision and further solidified her position as a creative talent through this recognition.
