Comedian Park Na Rae, long known for her caring image as the host of Narae Bar, has come under heavy scrutiny following allegations that she required her managers to perform excessive personal tasks. As accusations of workplace abuse continue to grow, additional claims have emerged suggesting that even the carefully prepared dishes shown on television were not made solely by Park herself, but involved significant assistance from her managers, leaving many viewers shocked.
On December 22, a video titled 'Shocking Exclusive! Why Was Park Na Rae’s 5 Billion KRW (Approximately 3.7 Million USD) Mortgage Registered? Manager Whistleblowing… The Reason a Life Was Saved' was uploaded to the YouTube channel Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho.
In the video, entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho stated that Park’s managers were “extremely busy whenever Narae Bar was held,” and went on to describe what he claimed were extensive duties assigned to them. According to his account, managers were responsible for sourcing ingredients from fish markets, setting up lighting tailored to the attending celebrities, and traveling to locations such as Gwacheon and even Gangwon Province to pick up specific items.
Lee further alleged that when Narae Bar events took place, managers remained on standby across multiple floors and personally served alcohol whenever supplies ran low. “They prepared wine glasses according to type, handled chilling, cleaned used glasses, and did the dishwashing,” he said. He also claimed that managers were tasked with calling taxis for attending celebrities, taking photos as proof, and reporting the details. According to Lee, their work only ended between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. after completing trash disposal and recycling.
Questions were also raised about the food Park presented on MBC’s 'I Live Alone,' where she had received praise for being attentive and generous to those around her. Lee questioned who actually prepared the lavish meals shown on the program, claiming that managers were involved throughout much of the cooking process.
As a specific example, Lee stated that when Park prepared a lunchbox for Code Kunst, the broadcast showed only the finished dish without showing the cooking process. “The managers said they were the ones who made it,” he claimed. He also alleged that scenes showing Park pan frying traditional jeon during the holidays involved managers working alongside her for two days starting the night before. During kimchi making episodes, managers were reportedly responsible for preparing glutinous rice paste and purchasing ingredients such as radishes, red pepper powder, and garlic.
Meanwhile, the legal dispute between Park and her former managers has intensified. On December 5, the former managers filed a criminal complaint against Park on charges including aggravated assault, defamation through false statements, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act.
Park responded with strong counteraction. On the same day, she filed a complaint accusing the managers of attempted extortion. On December 20, she further escalated the situation by filing additional complaints against two former managers for occupational embezzlement at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul.
As both sides continue to pursue legal action, public attention remains fixed on the expanding controversy and on whether Park Na Rae’s long-standing public image can withstand the growing allegations.
