Actor Choo Young Woo has confirmed his appearance in the drama 'Love Doctor (tentative English title),' hinting at a striking acting transformation.
Choo Young Woo will play the role of Park Min Jae in the Genie TV original drama 'Love Doctor' (written by Min Hyo Jung, directed by Ahn Pan Seok) alongside Kim So Hyun.
In the story, Park Min Jae was once a top swimmer slicing through the waves, but after losing his leg, he swapped his swimsuit for a lab coat. He fills the void left by his lost dreams with diligence and quiet perseverance, dedicating himself to robotics research. Audiences are particularly eager to see how Choo Young Woo will delicately portray a character who struggles to express emotions due to fear of pain and deep introspection.
The person who enters Park Min Jae’s otherwise dry and routine life is graduate student Lim Yoo Jin (played by Kim So Hyun). Their encounter—after Yoo Jin wanders into the robotics lab—promises to bring significant change to Min Jae’s life. 'Love Doctor' is set to energize viewers with a fresh backdrop of robotics engineering, combining stories of youth, personal growth, and heart-fluttering romance.
This year, Choo Young Woo has continued to redefine his career with standout performances across genres and roles in dramas such as 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,' 'Mercy for None,' and 'Head over Heels,' consistently delivering memorable and transformative characters.
The Genie TV original drama 'Love Doctor,' featuring Choo Young Woo, is scheduled to air as a Monday-Tuesday drama on ENA in 2026 and will be exclusively available for free VOD on KT Genie TV.
