Antenna, the agency representing top television host Yoo Jae Suk and several prominent entertainers, has issued an official statement declaring that it will pursue strong legal action against individuals responsible for defamatory posts and malicious comments directed at its artists.
In a notice released on December 5, the agency expressed gratitude to fans for their support while raising concerns about a recent surge of online abuse that has “gone beyond the bounds of freedom of expression” and has begun infringing on the “human rights and dignity” of its artists.
Antenna stated that it has confirmed multiple cases involving the spread of false rumors, personal attacks, insults, and other malicious content, which the company described as severe enough to potentially cause psychological harm not only to the artists but also to their fans.
To address this issue, the agency reported that it has been gathering evidence through legal consultation and internal monitoring and will proceed with legal action against those posting defamatory content. The company emphasized that sharing or reproducing unverified claims will also be subject to the same legal consequences.
Antenna additionally requested fans’ cooperation, asking them to report any harmful posts or comments via a designated email address. Reports involving closed online communities or private social media accounts, it noted, have been especially helpful in the agency’s ongoing legal procedures.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Antenna’s commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of its artists: “We will continue to do our utmost to safeguard our artists moving forward.”
