Rookie girl group VVUP is strutting down the global music charts just like their new title track, "Super Model".
The group, consisting of members Kim, Paan, Suyeon, and Jiyoon, released their first mini-album 'VVON' on November 20. By November 22, the album had already hit #1 on the iTunes Album R&B/Soul Charts in both Indonesia and Thailand.
This achievement is especially meaningful as it marks a "homecoming" success for the group's international members: Kim is from Indonesia and Paan is from Thailand.
Their success isn't limited to Southeast Asia. The title track, "Super Model", also climbed to #1 on the Apple Music Chart in Qatar, making VVUP the only K-pop artist to rank in the Top 5 there.
Recognizing this growing popularity, their management EgoENT stated, "VVUP is achieving distinct results not just domestically, but also in Asia and the Middle East. We are preparing local promotions to repay the enthusiastic support of global fans."
The group's pre-release track, "House Party", had already set the stage for this success, charting high in Russia, France, the UK, and Hong Kong. Notably, the music video for "House Party" trended at #1 on YouTube in Indonesia.
The album title 'VVON' is a combination of "VIVID", "VISION", and "ON", symbolizing the moment the light turns on. It also plays on the words 'Born' and 'Won', representing the group's narrative of being born to win.
