VERIVERY member Hoyoung will fulfill his mandatory military service as a social service worker.
On November 17 KST, Jellyfish Entertainment announced through its official social media channels, “Hoyoung will begin his military duty as a social service agent starting on November 27th.”
The agency added, “There will be no official event on the day he enters the training center. As the enlistment ceremony is a space shared with many soldiers and their families, we ask fans to refrain from visiting the site or his future service location for safety reasons.”
They continued, “Please send your warm support and love so that Hoyoung can faithfully complete his duty and return in good health.”
Hoyoung debuted as a member of the seven-member boy group VERIVERY in January 2019. He halted activities in October 2023 due to symptoms of psychological anxiety and has not been able to rejoin the group for two years. Member Minchan has also been on hiatus since December 2022. Although all VERIVERY members recently renewed their contracts with the agency, their upcoming fourth single 'Lost and Found', set for release on December 1, will be promoted by only five members.
