On November 7, tvN unveiled a new teaser for its latest Saturday-Sunday series 'Pro Bono' (written by Moon Yoo Suk, directed by Kim Sung Yoon), which is set to premiere on December 6 at 9:10 PM. The series promises an engaging blend of human drama and legal comedy.
Pro Bono follows the tumultuous journey of a self-centered judge whose only goal in life was career advancement—until an unexpected incident leads him down the path of becoming a public interest lawyer. Demoted to a “zero-revenue” public service team at a major law firm, he begins handling quirky yet heartfelt cases that gradually transform him, offering both laughter and warmth.
The title 'Pro Bono' comes from the Latin phrase "pro bono publico," meaning “for the public good,” referring to free legal work done for marginalized individuals. It not only serves as the title but also encapsulates the show’s central theme and moral core.

The script is written by former judge Moon Yoo Suk, known for 'The Devil Judge' and 'Ms. Hammurabi,' while Kim Sung Yoon—director of Love in the Moonlight and Itaewon Class—takes the helm.
Actor Jung Kyung Ho stars as the lead character Kang David, a once-famous celebrity in the legal world who was admired by both his peers and the public. Renowned for his sharp judgments, eloquent speech, and massive social media following, he’s known as the ultimate “star lawyer.”
In the newly released teaser, Kang David strides confidently into court under a barrage of camera flashes, casually greeting reporters and even snapping photos for his own social media—oozing charisma and wit.

However, his seemingly perfect life takes a sudden turn when he collapses after biting into an apple. In a surreal sequence, animated scenes of flowers, butterflies, and mushrooms envelop him before a small dog appears by his side. Awakened by the dog’s presence, he jumps up to find his office colleagues staring at him. As the caption reads, “One poisoned apple turns a judge into a public defender?!” he shouts desperately, “I want to go back!”
Stripped of his judicial robes overnight, Kang Dawit becomes a pro bono lawyer working without pay in a cramped office. His journey from an ambitious elitist to a down-to-earth advocate for justice promises both laughter and heartwarming humanity.

With viewers eager to see how Kang David’s new chapter unfolds, 'Pro Bono' is generating strong anticipation as tvN’s next flagship weekend drama. It follows 'Typhoon Family,' which has been performing well with its latest episode earning an average and peak viewership rating of 9.1% (Nielsen Korea).
All eyes are now on whether 'Pro Bono' can carry on that momentum when it premieres on December 6 at 9:10 PM on tvN.
