Yuma, a member of HYBE’s global boy group &TEAM, captivated viewers with his emotional voice and sincere stage presence on MBC’s 'King of Mask Singer'.
In the first round, he performed Park Ji Yoon’s "Fantasy" and later impressed with a performance of FTISLAND’s "Wind".
The judges and audience were surprised when he removed his mask, revealing his identity. “It was my first time appearing alone on a Korean variety show, so I was very nervous,” Yuma said. “I’m glad I could show a bit of my charm.” When praised for his fluent Korean, he humbly added, “I practiced with my Korean member, Ejoo.”
He also shared his inspiration to become an idol: “I dreamed of becoming a singer after watching BTS when I was young.”
Following the broadcast, “&TEAM Yuma” trended in real-time on X (formerly Twitter), with fans commenting, “His song choice matched his tone perfectly,” and “You could feel how hard he practiced—so moving.”
Meanwhile, &TEAM recently made a powerful return with their first Korean mini album 'Back to Life', released on October 28.
