According to sources on November 13 KST, 4 members of NewJeans and their legal guardians met with Lee Do Kyung, CEO of ADOR, earlier this week on November 11 KST. One member was unable to attend because she was overseas.
It's said that both sides discussed specific details should NewJeans return to ADOR, including desired work environments.
A day later on November 12 KST, ADOR formally announced Haerin and Hyein's decisions to uphold the initial court ruling and return to ADOR. Then, some hours later, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle separately announced to the press, "After careful deliberation, we have decided to return to ADOR. There was a delay in the communication of this decision because one member is currently overseas, and thus, because ADOR has yet to give us a response, we have opted to relay our positions through the press."
Regarding the above statement, one informant from Minji, Hanni, and Danielle's side explained, "After the meeting on November 11 KST, the three members were waiting on a response from ADOR when the label suddenly announced Haerin and Hyein's return. Out of concern for the confusion that fans will inevitably experience from the announcement, the three members quickly informed ADOR of their decisions to return to ADOR, but ADOR did not respond and the three members had no choice but to relay their decision to the press."
Upon Minji, Hanni, and Danielle's announcement, ADOR curtly stated, "We are currently checking on the validity of their decisions," demonstrating a different stance than in the case of Haerin and Hyein.
Meanwhile, the deadline to file an appeal against the court's initial ruling in the ADOR vs. NewJeans exclusive contract validity case is November 14 at midnight KST. If no appeal is filed by either side, the court's ruling that "the contract between NewJeans and ADOR remains valid" must be upheld until 2029.
