KATSEYE made K-pop history with two nominations for the 68th Grammy Awards, announced on Nov. 8, 2025 KST. The group is shortlisted for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with ‘Gabriela’.
Best New Artist is one of the Grammys’ general field categories, often grouped with Record of the Year and Song of the Year among the major awards. KATSEYE is the first K-pop group to be nominated in Best New Artist. The lineup—Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung—formed in 2023 through the reality competition ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’ and gained momentum with ‘Gnarly’ and ‘Gabriela’ from the 2025 EP ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’.
U.S. outlets highlighted the moment. ABC News noted, "As for KATSEYE, it's rare to see a girl group nominated in a major Grammy category, let alone a global girl group," pointing to the act’s ties with HYBE and Geffen Records and their recent tracks. CNN called the nominations proof of a standout year, tracing their path from the Netflix documentary ‘Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE’ to strong chart showings and wider recognition.
After the announcement, KATSEYE wrote on Instagram, "we can’t even believe this is real life!! two nominations?! thank you to the @recordingacademy we are truly humbled, and congrats to all the nominees today, you inspire us! we wouldn’t be here without our EYEKONS - words can’t describe how grateful we are to you."

‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’ followed the 2024 EP ‘SIS (Soft Is Strong)’, which featured the breakout single ‘Touch’. Reflecting their diverse backgrounds across the United States, Switzerland, the Philippines, and South Korea, the group describes itself as a global act.
The 68th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 1, 2026 PT at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
