A Japanese woman who gave BTS member Jin an unsolicited kiss has been brought to trial.
The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office announced on November 12 that it has indicted a Japanese woman in her 50s, identified as 'A,' without detention on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (forcible molestation).
'A' is accused of kissing Jin on the cheek during a “hug event” held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul last June. The incident led to a public complaint, prompting an investigation.
Songpa Police Station initially booked 'A' and summoned her for questioning, but the investigation was temporarily suspended in March. A later appeared voluntarily, allowing the case to move forward.
Police concluded that the allegation of forcible molestation was valid and transferred the case to the prosecution in May.
Meanwhile, BTS is preparing a full-group album slated for release next spring.
