A woman in her 30s who repeatedly posted malicious content targeting actress Han Ji Min has been referred to court.
According to the Chosun Ilbo on October 29, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (headed by Kim Ji Young) indicted the woman, identified as Lee, without detention on October 20 on charges of intimidation and defamation.
Lee is accused of posting 19 messages on her own social media last September and October, including statements such as "I will sabotage Han Ji Min's movie," and "Shut your mouth." It was reported that Lee also tagged both Han Ji Min and some of her acquaintances in these posts.
Han Ji Min's agency, BH Entertainment, filed a police complaint against Lee in November last year, and Han also participated in the investigation as a complainant. In March, the Gangnam Police Station forwarded the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
After conducting further investigations involving Han and Lee, the prosecution referred Lee to court seven months later.
It appears that Lee committed the acts after news that Han Ji Min had formed a romantic relationship with Jannabi's vocalist Cho Jung Hoon, around August last year.
The date for Lee's first trial has not yet been set.
