The Blue House announced that President Lee Jae Myung has requested a postponement of the upcoming Chuseok special episode of JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator.'
On October 4, the presidential office stated, “President Lee and the First Lady were scheduled to appear on the show on October 5, intending to promote K-food made with seasonal ingredients.”
However, the office requested that the episode’s broadcast be delayed. A spokesperson explained, “Considering that all government ministries are observing a period of mourning following the death of a civil servant, the airing has been postponed.”
Regarding recent controversy over the timing of the appearance, the office clarified, “On September 28 at 10:50 a.m., President Lee received a briefing during the Emergency Response Meeting and discussed countermeasures.”
They added, “After recording 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' that day, the president presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting in the afternoon. Since returning from his U.S. trip on the night of September 26, he has been issuing the necessary instructions.”
The final broadcast date for the episode featuring President Lee and the First Lady has yet to be determined.
