Naul, a member of the R&B group Brown Eyed Soul, has opened up about why the group has been inactive in album promotions for so long.
On the October 14th KST episode of the YouTube web variety show ‘Salon Drip 2’ hosted by TEO, the members of Brown Eyed Soul appeared as guests. During the show, Jang Do Yeon brought up a past comment from member Jungyup, saying, “You once said on ‘Video Star’ that the reason we haven’t heard a full comeback from Brown Eyed Soul was because of Naul — and you called him ‘that XX.’”
Jungyup laughed and responded, “I wasn’t wrong.”
Naul then spoke seriously about his condition, revealing, “I wasn’t in good shape. I had a vocal cord polyp.” Vocal polyps are swelling or growths on the vocal cords caused by overuse or strain and are considered a serious condition for singers. “I couldn’t make a sound for two years,” he admitted.
When Jang Do Yeon asked if he had recovered, Naul surprised everyone by saying, “It disappeared like a miracle. I was supposed to undergo surgery, but there was a risk that I wouldn’t be able to sing again if it went wrong. Thankfully, it disappeared, and I’m able to sing again.”
Asked whether the group now plans to hold concerts every year, he replied cautiously:
“There are no plans yet. For now, I’m just grateful that I can sing again. I’m not sure what the future holds.”
