Actress Kim Hee Sun is grieving the loss of her mother, Park Bok Soon, who passed away today at the age of 86, according to reports from MyDaily.
Kim Hee Sun is said to be staying at the funeral home with her family during this difficult time. A source close to the entertainment industry shared, “For Kim Hee Sun, who is an only child, her mother was more than just a parent. She was a friend and a guiding presence. It was thanks to her mother that she was able to pursue her career in entertainment without pause. The family is now preparing for her final farewell amidst immense sorrow.”
The funeral is being held at Seoul Asan Medical Center, Funeral Hall 30, with Kim Hee Sun and her husband Park Joo Young listed as chief mourners. The burial service is scheduled for October 4 at 4:40 a.m., with the final resting place at Seoul Memorial Park.
Kim Hee Sun made her debut as a commercial model in 1993 and quickly rose to prominence in Korean television, starring in dramas such as 'Dinosaur Teacher,' 'Chunhyang,' 'Men of the Bath House,' 'Propose,' 'Three Guys and Three Girls,' 'Sunflower,' and 'My Fair Lady,' establishing herself as one of South Korea’s leading actresses.
She married businessman Park Joo Young in 2007 and the couple welcomed their daughter, Park Yeon Ah, in 2009. Kim has continued to maintain a strong presence on screen, appearing in popular dramas including 'The Lady in Dignity,' 'Alice,' and 'Tomorrow.'
