This week, TXT's Hueningkai became embroiled in an alleged dating scandal.
On October 8, an anonymous netizen accused Hueningkai of staying out all night drinking with a woman, even posting pictures taken of the two together that night. The scandal quickly went viral, with netizens split over whether the allegations were true or whether they were an extreme invasion of Hueningkai's privacy.

Shortly after, Hueningkai responded to the allegations. He made a candid post apologizing to fans, and explaining that the woman was simply an acquaintance whom he escorted home for her safety that night. Hueningkai repeatedly apologized for "making trouble for the members" and "worrying anyone".
Hueningkai's apology has now sparked intense reactions from netizens, with many expressing their disappointment at his explanation.
"If it hadn't been just the two of them, it wouldn't be this big of an issue.."
"Wow, it's really not a good situation. LOL. Thank goodness it's not my bias"
"This just makes me realize again how disgusting sasaeng fans are. So gross"
"It seems like TXT is doing whatever they want now that they're older.. I guess it's normal. But when the time comes, fans will probably switch to a different group"
"There's nothing strange and scandalous about a man and woman hanging out together"
"But how can they just be acquaintances? Hugging her when she's drunk like that is blatant flirting"
"Will TXT even have any fans left after this?"
"His explanation is so ridiculous it's funny"
"The company needs to sue the sasaeng who took those pictures"
"I still don't understand why idols have to explain whether or not they're dating. It's not like it's a crime"
"Why would someone go to the trouble of digging into his private life like this and trying to profit from it? Pleas protect the privacy of idols"
"Anyway, fans who want to leave because of this will leave and fans who want to stay will stay!"
