i-dle's Minnie is facing heavy criticism online after posting photos from this year's W Korea 'LOVE YOUR W' breast cancer awareness event. The photos featured Miyeon and have been spreading online, sparking major discussion.
The annual charity event, hosted by W Korea magazine since 2006, promotes breast cancer awareness under the slogan "LOVE YOUR W." The magazine claims that all proceeds from the event go toward helping low-income patients with diagnosis and treatment costs. Over the past 20 years, the campaign has reportedly raised 1.1 billion KRW (around 775,000 USD) in total donations.
However, this year’s event is stirring up controversy for reasons beyond its charitable purpose. Many netizens criticized the event itself for feeling more like a celebrity party than an awareness campaign, noting that there were no clear dress guidelines or symbolic pink ribbons — a common gesture for breast cancer awareness events overseas.
Amidst the backlash, i-dle's Minnie has also become a main target of criticism after she uploaded photos of her personal Instagram. In the pictures, the idol wore a revealing outfit that showed her underwear above her low-rise pants with a lace bra-top. Korean netizens slammed the look as “inappropriate” and “tone-deaf,” especially given the event’s cause.

Korean netizens commented:
"What’s with that outfit, pull up your pants..."
"Looking at the outfit, yeah, they really went there to party."
"What happened to having any awareness..."
"Minnie, you’re pretty, but this isn’t it."
"Wow, unbelievable lack of awareness lolol."
"What happened to having awareness?"
"Either they’re completely clueless or have zero shame."
"Does she know what the event was about?"
"Please, read the room..."
"Other celebrities didn't post any photos because they know what's going on."
"Showing off panties in this situation? Wow, that’s new."
"What the— was that a lingerie fashion show?? omg."
"Went to a charity event, had fun, took pretty photos. That's their takeaway..."
"Her outfit... is so revealing..."
"I don't think that outfit is appropriate for a charity event..."
"Didn't her manager tell her about the event vibe?"
"Their sense of awareness has completely left the planet."
