YouTuber Jung Seonho, who has over 1.83 million subscribers, has sparked debate after criticizing a 'W Korea breast cancer charity event.'

On October 20, Jung uploaded a video titled 'I Played "MOMMAE" for My Mom Who Underwent Breast Cancer Surgery' on his YouTube channel. In the video, Jung pinned a pink ribbon, a symbol of breast cancer awareness, on his mother Park Geun Mi and recalled her past illness. “When I was in middle school, Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through nearly two years of chemotherapy,” he said. “Her hair fell out, and even during the summer heat, she only wore a beanie. What saddened me the most was later realizing that she stopped wearing seat belts because they irritated her chest after surgery. That was when I learned that seat belts can be painful for patients like her.”

When asked about the most difficult part of her battle, Park replied, “Everything was hard. You always have to be prepared and get regular checkups.”

Jung then played Jay Park’s song “MOMMAE,” which was performed at 'W Korea’s Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Event' on October 15, telling his mother, “Let’s listen to the song they used for the awareness campaign.”

After hearing the track, Park reacted with visible discomfort. “What is this? How can they use this kind of song for a breast cancer campaign? This feels like mockery, not awareness. It’s offensive, especially to women who have gone through something so painful.”

Jung expressed similar criticism, saying, “Does this really raise awareness? I think the organizers are at fault. Celebrities often move according to what their agencies tell them, but if they truly came voluntarily, they should have understood the purpose of the event and thought more carefully about the message they were sending.”

Born in 1989, Jung Seonho creates family-centered content featuring his mother and also pursues music under the stage name Seonozzi. His candid commentary has drawn both support and controversy online, with many viewers questioning the appropriateness of the song choice for such a sensitive cause.
