The Boyz’s agency issued an official statement regarding the controversy over the similarity between The Boyz’s official lightstick and that of rookie group QWER.
On September 25, One Hundred Label released a statement expressing, “We sincerely empathize with the confusion and inconvenience that fans have experienced due to the recent design similarity between The Boyz’s official lightstick and QWER’s, and we deeply apologize.”

The agency emphasized the symbolic importance of a lightstick as a connection between an artist and their fandom. “We fully understand the feelings of The B (The Boyz’s fandom) who may have been uncomfortable even just by the controversy itself. Since becoming aware of this matter, we have been in discussions with QWER’s team and requested changes to their design, but no final conclusion has been reached,” the statement read.
One Hundred Label further apologized for not responding more swiftly, assuring that the agency will “take strong action in collaboration with relevant organizations, including all legal measures, to prevent similar incidents in the future.” They also pledged to safeguard the symbolic significance that The Boyz and The B have built together.
The controversy initially emerged online, with netizens noting that QWER’s lightstick bears a strong resemblance to The Boyz’s. Fans of The Boyz reportedly sent protest trucks to QWER’s agency, while QWER fans engaged in online clashes with The Boyz supporters. Despite ongoing discussions between the two agencies requesting design changes, a final resolution has yet to be achieved.
