One Hundred Label, led by Chairman Cha Ga Won, has denied reports alleging that billions of KRW in artist settlement payments remain unpaid, stating that the issue is currently under normal discussion and adjustment. The company has also announced plans to pursue legal action, calling the report factually incorrect.
On January 2, One Hundred Label released an official statement responding to an article published earlier the same day by The Fact, which claimed that several artists affiliated with the One Hundred Label, including Baekhyun, Taemin, and The Boyz, were in an unsettled payment status, with the total amount allegedly exceeding 5 billion KRW (about 3.46 million USD).
The report further claimed that Baekhyun, who is signed under subsidiary label INB100, was owed approximately 1 billion KRW (about 700,000 USD), while Chen and Xiumin were also said to be awaiting payments in the hundreds of millions of KRW. In addition, SHINee’s Taemin, currently under Big Planet Made Entertainment, was reported to have unsettled earnings exceeding 1 billion KRW (about 700,000 USD).
In response, One Hundred Label stated, “The ‘unsettled payment’ issue mentioned in the article is a matter that is currently being discussed and adjusted in a normal manner according to each artist’s contract terms and activity status.” The company emphasized that the article does not align with the facts and expressed regret that it was published without proper fact-checking or an opportunity for rebuttal.
The agency stressed that such reports could damage the image of its artists and confirmed that it would respond strongly through legal channels. One Hundred Label also stated that there is no conflict between the company and its artists, adding that all artists and employees are continuing their activities diligently, with Chairman Cha Ga Won actively supporting them.
One Hundred Label further explained that the growth of One Hundred Label, Big Planet Made Entertainment, and INB100 has been driven by proactive investment, rejecting implications of financial instability. Concluding its statement, the company said it would hold both the media outlet and the original source of the information fully accountable for what it described as false reporting. One Hundred Label also confirmed that it will immediately submit a mediation request to the Press Arbitration Commission, adding that the truth of the matter will be clearly determined through legal procedures.
Official Statement Regarding Reports on Alleged Unsettled Payments
"Hello, this is One Hundred Label.
We would like to state our position regarding the article published today (January 2) by The Fact.
The so-called 'unsettled payment' issue mentioned in the article is a matter that is currently being discussed and adjusted in a normal manner, depending on each artist’s contract conditions and activity status. The article published by The Fact is inconsistent with the facts, and we find it deeply regrettable that it was reported without proper fact-checking or the guarantee of our right to respond. As this matter could damage the image of our artists, we will respond strongly through legal action.
There is absolutely no conflict between our artists, employees, and the company, and all of them are continuing their activities diligently. Chairman Cha Ga Won is also doing his utmost to support the artists by their side.
The growth of One Hundred Label, Big Planet Made Entertainment, and INB100 has been achieved through proactive investment. We will hold those responsible fully accountable for false reports based solely on incorrect tips from an unreliable source. We will never tolerate The Fact or the misinformation provider for attempting to shake our artists and company through such reporting.
We also reiterate that our right to rebuttal was not properly guaranteed in this article, and we will immediately submit a request for mediation to the Press Arbitration Commission. The truth of this matter will be clearly revealed through legal procedures.
Thank you.
One Hundred Label"
