The cast of 'Reply 1988' is heading to Gangwon Province on October 12 and 13.
According to a MyDaily report on September 16, more than 10 cast members of tvN’s 'Reply 1988' will go on a 1-night, 2-day retreat to a location in Gangwon Province on October 12 and 13.
This retreat is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 'Reply 1988's broadcast and will be accompanied by PD Na Young Seok’s variety show production team Egg Is Coming. The retreat will be filmed as a variety program.
Unlike its predecessors, 'Reply 1997' and 'Reply 1994,' 'Reply 1988' is set in the 1980s. It depicts the warm, family-friendly story of a neighborhood in Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul, in 1988, focusing on the love and friendship of five childhood friends who grew up together in the same alleys.
The show aired on tvN from November 2015 to January 2016 and caused a cultural sensation. It started with a 6.7% rating for its first episode (according to Nielsen Korea) and ended with 19.6% for the finale. The cast, including Hyeri, Park Bo Gum, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Lee Dong Hwi, Ryu Hye Young, and Ahn Jae Hong, have all become prominent stars 10 years later.
While most of the cast will be joining the retreat, Ryu Jun Yeol will not attend due to filming schedules.
