Meanwhile, Park Yoo Chun is currently active mainly in Japan.
In 2019, Park was indicted on charges of using methamphetamine and was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years. When the drug allegations first surfaced, Park held a press conference and firmly denied them, saying, “I have never done drugs. If I ever did, I would retire from the entertainment industry.” However, it was later revealed to be false, sparking controversy.
Park Yoo Chun eventually apologized for his drug use and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry. However, he later reversed his decision and has consistently shown signs of returning to the spotlight.
In December 2023, he was also listed by the National Tax Service as a habitual high-value tax delinquent, owing approximately 4.09 billion KRW (about 2.9 million USD) across five unpaid tax cases, including capital gains tax from 2016.
