Netflix’s upcoming series 'Genie, Make a Wish' has released character posters featuring Kim Woo Bin and Suzy, highlighting the series’ playful yet antagonistic chemistry.

In the posters, Genie, played by Kim Woo Bin, threatens, “I will kill you,” while Gayoung, played by Suzy, responds sharply, “Go away, just get a haircut,” promising a humorous and unpredictable dynamic.

Scheduled to premiere on October 3, just before Chuseok, 'Genie, Make a Wish' is a stress-free fantasy romantic comedy. The story follows Genie, a lamp spirit who awakens after a thousand years, and Gayoung, an emotionally detached human. Together, they engage in a three-wish game that leads to surprising and entertaining situations.

Earlier teaser trailers hinted at the unusual relationship between the mischievous Genie and his new lamp owner, Gayoung, sparking audience curiosity. The newly released character posters further deepen that intrigue. Genie, surrounded by a golden glow, displays a playful and captivating smile, suggesting his cunning nature. The tagline above him reads, “Humans are ultimately all corrupt,” reflecting his twisted perspective on humanity. The hourglass floating above his hand adds a mysterious element.

Gayoung also captures attention with her striking visuals. Wearing a sparkling gown and smiling subtly, her sharp eyes and scarred arms reveal her dangerous edge. She holds a drill, ready to pierce the lamp, and her tagline, “I’m the only bad one in this world,” adds to the anticipation of her interactions with Genie. Character videos show their witty back-and-forth, offering glimpses of the comedic tension central to the series.

The storyline shows Genie awakening in the Dubai desert with a plan to prove humanity’s corruption. Despite his threatening words, “I will not bow to someone molded from clay like you. I will corrupt you and kill you,” Gayoung responds with a single line: “Go away, just get a haircut.” Her cool reply sets the stage for their dynamic. Living by the rules and routines taught by her grandmother, Gayoung’s emotionally detached personality challenges Genie’s plans. Whether Genie can disrupt her carefully structured life or if their clash evolves into romance remains a central question.

New stills also highlight the series’ playful tone. Genie appears not in the Dubai desert but in a Korean cabbage field, following Gayoung back to Korea and greeting people with his bright smile. Gayoung, captured on the streets of Dubai in bold floral patterns, walks with elegance and confidence, indifferent to the stares of onlookers. Even in a single frame, both characters convey a striking and memorable presence.

'Genie, Make a Wish' will premiere globally on Netflix on October 3, offering a fantastical blend of romance, comedy, and unexpected twists.
