Actor Lee Soo Hyuk has been embroiled in controversy over alleged overwork, prompting a response from his agency.
On September 3, SARAM Entertainment posted a statement on its official social media accounts, saying, “We believe that every moment shared between our fans and artists holds a special and meaningful significance. We deeply regret the unexpected situations that occurred during the event.”
The agency added, “We will do our utmost to use this experience as an opportunity to move forward in a better direction.”
SARAM Entertainment further emphasized, “Above all, we hope that the sincerity of our artist, who did his best given the circumstances, and the fans’ love for him, will not lose its meaning. We hope that this reunion, which took place for the first time in ten years, remains a cherished memory for everyone.”
The statement concluded with the agency expressing gratitude, saying, “We will work closely with relevant parties to ensure that future events can be even better, and we extend our thanks to the fan meeting organizers, partners, staff, and fans for their support.”
Lee Soo Hyuk held his solo fan meeting, 'Eternal Magic Hour: 赫然心,' in Hangzhou, China, on August 30, drawing significant attention as tickets sold out in just two minutes.
However, a Taiwanese media outlet reported that Lee Soo Hyuk provided fan service for nearly 12 hours, almost double the scheduled time, at a venue with insufficient air conditioning, which sparked criticism. Fans also expressed concern over the demanding schedule, saying it disregarded the actor’s health.
On September 4, SARAM Entertainment told MHN, “There were some shortcomings. We are carefully verifying the facts to prevent any misunderstandings that could harm anyone. We will provide a clear update once confirmed.”
Regarding Lee Soo Hyuk’s health, the agency reassured, “Fortunately, there are no serious issues.”
