Eugene is making her long-awaited comeback after four years with MBN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'First Lady,' which also marks the broadcaster’s revival of its weekday drama slot.
The series follows an unprecedented twist: a president-elect demands a divorce from his wife, just as she is set to become the First Lady.

At the press conference held on September 24, Eugene admitted to feeling pressure ahead of her return, saying, “This role was harder to embody than I expected, and I worried whether it would suit me. But that’s how new and meaningful it feels.” She plays Cha Su Yeon, who helps her husband rise from activist to president.

Ji Hyun Woo co-stars as president-elect Hyun Min Chul, and praised the script for its strong character balance, noting it felt like “every role could be a lead.” Director Lee Ho Hyun described the drama as a melodrama at its core, highlighting both political intrigue and the emotional struggles between the lead couple.

With secrets surrounding the president-elect and his family at the center of the plot, 'First Lady' promises a mix of romance, conflict, and suspense. The drama premieres September 24 at 10:20 p.m. KST on MBN.
