Comedian Lee Jin Ho, who is already under investigation for illegal gambling, has been caught drunk driving after traveling nearly 100 kilometers from Incheon to Yangpyeong.
According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Police on September 24, the Yangpyeong Police Station apprehended Lee around 3 a.m. for driving under the influence. Police said they received a report that Lee was drunk driving in Incheon, and after coordinating with local authorities, they arrested him upon his arrival in Yangpyeong.
Lee’s blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.11%, a level high enough for license revocation. At his request, police also conducted a blood test to confirm the alcohol level, and results are pending. He has since been released but will face further questioning.
Lee, who debuted as a comedian through SBS in 2005, is already facing charges of illegal gambling. Earlier this year, in April, the Gangnam Police Station referred his case to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office.
In a previous Instagram post, Lee admitted that he had started gambling through an illegal online platform in 2020, which left him with heavy debts. The controversy intensified after it was revealed that BTS member Jimin and fellow comedian Lee Soo Geun had lent him money, reportedly suffering losses in the process.
