Oxfam Korea has announced it will host a special charity talk concert, 'Oxfam Super Live', featuring renowned actor Lee Je hoon and the band LUCY, to support communities worldwide that are vulnerable to climate change.
The event is scheduled for October 25th at 5 PM at The Terrace in Yongsan, Seoul. It aims to raise funds for those living in extreme poverty who are most affected by climate-related disasters such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves. Alongside the concert, a flea market called 'Super Store' will be open to the public at the same venue on October 25th and 26th.
Lee, who has served as an Oxfam ambassador for ten years, will share his experiences with the organization. He plans to speak about the dire situation in climate-vulnerable nations like Bangladesh and introduce Oxfam's relief efforts to encourage public interest and participation.
Lee's commitment to the cause is extensive. He has participated directly in relief work, from visiting the Philippines to help with mangrove restoration after Typhoon Haiyan to installing clean water facilities with Oxfam activists in Tanzania. In 2023, he became the first member of the 'Oxfam Honors Club', a group for high-value donors who have contributed over 100 million KRW (approx. 71,000 USD), and continues to lead various support campaigns.

Following the talk, the band LUCY will take the stage with an energetic performance, featuring a setlist of beloved songs like "Flowering" and "I Got U". The band is also launching a merchandise campaign inspired by their debut song, "Flowering". LUCY's leader, Choi Sang Yeop, has previously shown his support for the cause. In March, he donated a total of 42 million KRW (approx. 30,000 USD) to Oxfam Korea, combining his personal funds with fan donations from his birthday campaign.
"Oxfam has a long history of building solidarity through music," said Ji Kyung Young, CEO of Oxfam Korea. "In the UK, artists like The Beatles and Coldplay have joined our global campaigns. We hope 'Super Live' becomes a special opportunity for more citizens in Korea to have fun while making a difference".
Founded in Oxford, UK, in 1942, Oxfam is an international relief and development organization that provides practical and innovative aid in approximately 80 countries. It also provided 60,000 GBP in emergency relief during the Korean War.
Tickets for the Oxfam Super Live concert go on sale on October 13th at 11 AM KST through NOL Ticket (Interpark). All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support climate-vulnerable regions.
