TWICE members Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu have joined a meaningful initiative promoting a more inclusive society.

Since 2023, JYP Entertainment has been running “JYP 4 EARTH”, a social content campaign that’s part of its ESG management strategy.

The campaign features JYP artists participating in various activities for a better planet while spreading a positive vision for a sustainable society. Last year, 2PM’s Jun. K, Nichkhun, and Wooyoung, along with ITZY, took part; this year, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu are taking the lead.

In two videos released on JYP’s official YouTube channel on July 31 and August 7 (KST), the trio took part in a picture book-making project under JYP’s flagship CSR program EDM (Every Dream Matters!), which has been ongoing since 2022.

The books tell stories of characters with various disabilities living together in harmony, encouraging reflection on the values of coexistence and respect.

The members met with Lee Hyun Jung, CEO of Books International, which produces the EDM picture books, to discuss the emotional role of these books, the countries they are sent to, and why they are created in the native languages of the child patients.

They read the books aloud, sending messages of encouragement, and participated in making a Tagalog-language picture book for a child patient in the Philippines—decorating traditional ornaments and working on illustrations to create a one-of-a-kind book.

Beyond making the books, the trio learned about four types of disabilities—physical, hearing, developmental, and visual—by examining each main character’s traits.

Under the guidance of Yu In Sun from the Korea Differently Abled Federation, they also tried assistive devices to gain a better understanding of diverse communication methods. The members discussed how certain everyday expressions such as “computer error,” “system error,” or “choice paralysis” can unintentionally foster negative perceptions of disabilities, highlighting the importance of mindful language use.

Wrapping up the activity, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu shared, “We’re happy that we could offer emotional support to child patients through the books we made. We must remember that people with different traits live together in our society. We believe a warmer world can be built when understanding and kindness come together. We’ve realized the importance of cherishing and loving ourselves, as each of us is unique and irreplaceable.”

Celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year, TWICE continues to captivate fans worldwide with diverse activities.

They released their 4th full-length album ‘THIS IS FOR’ on July 11 and kicked off their 6th world tour with concerts in Incheon on July 19–20. On August 2 (local time), the group headlined Lollapalooza Chicago in Illinois, proving their status as one of the world’s top girl groups.
