Actress Son Ye Jin shared her departure for the Venice Film Festival while also speaking up about the sudden disappearance of her sub-account on social media.
On the 27th, Son posted on her official SNS, writing, “Finally on my way! It’s my first time visiting the Venice Film Festival, and I’m so excited. See you in Venice with my best self,” along with two photos and a video.
In the video, Son is seen sitting with fellow actors Lee Byung Hun and Park Hee Soon, flashing a bright smile and striking a V-sign. The accompanying photos showed the three stars clinking glasses and laughing together, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
Son also addressed recent concerns regarding her sub-account, explaining, “You must have been surprised that the sub-account suddenly got deleted, right? I don’t know why it happened either, but I will restore it as soon as possible.”
Back in June, Son had launched a sub-account under the handle yejinfoot_official, where she shared snippets of her daily life as a mother and posted quirky selfies, earning attention for the playful username that contrasted with her main account yejinhand. However, the account recently vanished with the message “This page isn’t available,” sparking speculation about its removal.
Some netizens linked the deletion to the so-called “child actor mistreatment controversy” that arose after Lee Byung Hun jokingly said during a press event that Son Ye Jin “pushed the question about child actors onto her senior.” Son had clarified at the time that she was immersed in her emotions during filming and could not respond immediately, but the remark was misinterpreted, leading to malicious comments.
The issue settled after child actress Choi So Yul’s mother personally explained that it was “just a playful anecdote” and that Son Ye Jin had been kind on set. Son also reiterated through her main account that she did not know why the sub-account was deleted.
Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin will make her big-screen comeback in the film ‘No Other Choice’, set to premiere on September 24. She stars alongside Lee Byung Hun, Park Hee Soon, Lee Sung Min, Yum Hye Ran, and Cha Seung Won. The film’s official invitation to the Venice Film Festival led to Son’s departure through Incheon International Airport earlier that morning.
