K-pop will soon echo through the heart of Bollywood, as India opens a massive venue capable of hosting over 30,000 fans for a large-scale performance.
The concert, titled ‘K-Town 3.0,’ will take place on November 1 in Mumbai, the symbolic center of Bollywood’s entertainment industry. The lineup includes SHINee’s Taemin, Super Junior D&E (Donghae and Eunhyuk), and former TREASURE member Yedam. The venue has been confirmed as Inorbit Mall, a well-known landmark in Mumbai.
For Taemin and Super Junior D&E, the event marks their debut stage in India, allowing them to showcase their top-tier K-pop status in the very hub of Bollywood.
India’s K-pop fandom has surged in recent years, particularly among the younger generation. Fueled by platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, fans are increasingly consuming Korean music, dramas, beauty, and fashion. This has sparked demand for live experiences in major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
The success of events like the ‘All India K-Pop Contest,’ which spotlighted cover dance performances, has further demonstrated this explosive growth.
With ‘K-Town 3.0,’ attention now turns to whether K-pop’s entry into the Indian market—long considered underdeveloped compared to other Asian regions—will accelerate. Still, industry observers note that markets where local genres dominate often pose challenges to foreign acts, presenting potential risks ahead.
