Amid rumors surrounding BTS member Jimin’s love life, Jimin’s agency, BigHit Music, has made an official response on August 31 (KST).
Waves of speculation broke out when actress Song Da Eun posted a video featuring Jimin, re-igniting dating rumors between the two. As she films him while waiting by the elevator on an apartment floor, Jimin appears surprised to see her, commenting “Oh, you scared me! Did you know I was coming? I didn’t tell you on purpose.”
In their statement, BigHit Music first expresses that an immediate statement was not released out of respect for their artist and the actress involved. However, due to the rampant speculation and false rumors being circulated, they felt it warranted a statement—clarifying that Jimin and Song Da Eun were once in a relationship years ago, but the two are not in a relationship at present. Finally, the agency asks for the public to refrain from actions that may cause harm to the parties involved.

This is BigHit Music.
We would like to address the matter surrounding our agency’s artist, Jimin.
Out of respect for the privacy of Jimin and the other party involved, we had not put out a statement.
However, as many speculative reports and false rumors surrounding Jimin’s private life arose, we felt that it was necessary to present the facts with regards to the matter.
Jimin and the other party involved were interested in each other and were in a relationship, but the relationship ended several years ago, and they are not in a relationship at present.
We ask that you refrain from making careless speculation that violate the privacy of the parties involved, and sincerely request that you refrain from any action that may cause harm to our artist and the other party involved.
