TWICE member Jeongyeon is officially making her screen debut.
According to reports on the 22nd KST, Jeongyeon has been cast in the upcoming film 'The Recruit: The Movie'. She has been offered the role of an army nurse officer, marking her first step into acting nearly 10 years after debuting as a K-pop idol.
'The Recruit: The Movie' is a spin-off of the popular drama series 'The Recruit', known for its hyper-realistic yet comedic portrayal of South Korean military life. Since premiering Season 1 in 2022, the show has gained a strong fanbase and released its third season in April 2025.
Unlike the original series, which focused on life inside a military unit, the spin-off film will center on a military hospital. The script is currently being finalized, and filming is expected to begin later this year. Jeongyeon is reportedly adjusting her schedule to prepare for the shoot.
Jeongyeon debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015. The group has released a string of hit songs including “CHEER UP,” “FANCY,” “TT,” and “Dance The Night Away,” earning massive popularity both in Korea and abroad.
TWICE recently made their comeback on July 11 with their fourth full-length album 'THIS IS FOR,' and are currently in the middle of their sixth world tour. The group is also scheduled to perform as headliners at Lollapalooza Chicago, one of the largest music festivals in the U.S.
