Silica Gel will return with their first solo concert in nearly a year. The group is known for their genre-blending sound that incorporates psychedelic rock, synth textures, and visual storytelling. They are also critically acclaimed, having won multiple Korean Music Awards, including Musician of the Year and Best Modern Rock Album in 2024.
According to their label CAM, the band will hold 'Syn.THE.Size X' on August 30–31 (KST) at Hall 1 of KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
'Syn.THE.Size' is Silica Gel’s original concert series themed around “synthesis.” Their last concert, 'Syn.THE.Size III', held in 2024 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul, was praised for its immersive production and fan interaction.
The teaser poster for this new concert reads, “An adventure across the dimensions of time—into the past and future,” hinting at a narrative-driven, multi-sensory experience that goes beyond a standard live performance.

This announcement follows the release of their latest single 'Namgung FEFERE' on July 10 (KST), a collaborative track with Korean-American singer-songwriter Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast. The song merges Silica Gel’s signature electronic and distorted sounds with acoustic elements and a touch of bossa nova, reflecting their evolving musical direction.
During a Spotify showcase titled 'Speakeasy Live', vocalist Kim Han Joo explained, “After songs like 'Machine Boy' and 'Power Andre 99', we talked about moving away from mechanical sounds. But instead of a complete shift, we decided to enjoy the transition and embrace the mixed textures.”
Directed by Jankie, the music video for 'Namgung FEFERE' blends visuals and music in a way that reflects the band’s cross-medium approach.
In addition to the upcoming concert, Silica Gel will also perform on the Green Stage—the main stage—at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival on July 27 (KST), further expanding their international exposure.
