K-pop icon G-Dragon has been officially appointed as the honorary ambassador for the '2025 APEC Summit', set to take place in Gyeongju, South Korea from October 31 to November 1.
On July 23 KST, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min Seok announced the news via his social media, expressing pride in selecting G-Dragon, whom he praised as a symbol of Korea’s creativity and innovation, citing his groundbreaking achievements like broadcasting music into space.
Tagging G-Dragon’s official social media account, PM Kim wrote, “From today, 100 days before the APEC summit, watch the synergy between G-Dragon and APEC unfold.” He also shared a photo holding the official appointment plaque, sparking excitement among fans and the public.
G-Dragon’s involvement is expected to boost global attention and cultural appeal for the upcoming APEC summit, marking a notable collaboration between diplomacy and entertainment.
