Actress Lee Joo Yeon, formerly of the girl group After School, has candidly shared her thoughts on marriage, drawing attention amid ongoing dating rumors with G-Dragon.
On the July 22 episode of SBS TV’s variety show 'Dolsing Fourmen,' Lee appeared as a guest alongside actor Choi Jin Hyuk, comedian Shin Gyu Jin, and cheerleader Park Ki Ryang.
During the broadcast, host Lee Sang Min asked, “Is it true you’re not getting married because of your father?”
Lee responded, “A few years ago, my father used to ask, ‘Isn’t it time you got married?’ But recently, he said, ‘If you’re just going to end up divorced, don’t bother getting married.’”
Lee Sang Min replied, “Marriage and divorce are both life experiences that aren’t necessarily bad,” to which Tak Jae Hoon, jokingly referencing Lee’s recent remarriage, quipped, “Are you enjoying marriage and divorce now?” eliciting laughter from the panel.
Lee Joo Yeon agreed with the sentiment, saying, “I understand what Sang Min means. I think marriage is something you should try at least once, even if it ends in divorce.”
When asked whether “a good kisser” is a must-have trait in a boyfriend, Lee boldly answered, “Yes, that’s number one. I’ve actually broken up with someone because of kissing. He was great in other ways, but we just weren’t compatible in that aspect.”
Meanwhile, Lee Joo Yeon has been linked to Big Bang member and solo artist G-Dragon multiple times, with dating rumors surfacing on five occasions.
The pair first sparked dating speculation in 2017, which they denied, stating they were “just close colleagues.” Despite continued rumors over the years, G-Dragon’s agency Galaxy Corporation officially stated in June that “the recent dating rumors involving G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon are not true.”
