On July 10 at approximately 2 PM KST, the 26th criminal division of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced former NCT member Taeil (31), as well as 2 other defendants, to 3 years and 6 months in prison. The court also ordered the defendants to complete 40 hours of educational programming related to sexual violence and to register all 3 defendants as sexual offenders in their neighborhoods of residence. These individuals will also be banned from working professionally in a career field related to children and youths for the next 5 years.
Previously, Taeil and 2 other accomplices were put on trial for aggravated assault. During the trial, all 3 defendants admitted to raping a female victim of Chinese nationality while she was intoxicated some time in June of last year.
At this initial ruling, the Seoul Central District Court also issued an arrest warrant for Taeil and the 2 other defendants, remarking, "There is concern of flight as the defendants will receive an imprisonment sentence."
