Former After School member Raina has revealed that she has been suffering from stalking, pleading for the situation to be taken seriously.
On July 21, Raina shared via social media, “I really didn’t want to talk about this, but I’m now going to block delusional and pseudo-romantic accounts.” She added, “This is about people who have crossed the line beyond genuine support and fandom.”
She went on to explain, “Some people create delusions involving me and speak as if they’re real,” revealing that she has received direct messages in which individuals listed her as their spouse on family certificates, among other disturbing messages.
Raina continued, “Some people, claiming they genuinely love me as a woman, have shown up with letters and flowers asking to date me, even including their phone numbers. One person even came to my home, and I had to move urgently because of it.” She expressed regret that she now has to reject even sincere gifts from fans due to these incidents.
She explained that the situation has worsened since she began promoting independently without an agency, which has made her more accessible to fans offline.
“Since two years ago, I’ve warned a few extreme individuals that I would report them if they kept crossing the line, but it keeps happening,” she said. “Just because I have a public-facing job doesn’t mean I should have to endure one-sided delusions or inappropriate behavior.”
In closing, Raina pleaded, “Please live in reality.”
Raina debuted with After School in 2009 and rose to popularity through the unit group Orange Caramel. She is currently active as a solo artist.
