
J-Hope of BTS recently reunited with his former comrades during the '2025 Homecoming Day' event held at the Baekho Recruit Training Battalion of the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
J-Hope, who served as an assistant instructor at the same training unit during his mandatory military service, made a surprise visit to the event and was warmly welcomed by fellow reservists. Photos from the reunion quickly spread across social media and online communities, garnering widespread attention.
One group photo showed J-Hope posing with his former unit in front of a banner that read, “We welcome the return of Baekho Recruit Training Battalion reservists.”
Fans and netizens praised his appearance, with comments such as “So loyal of him to make time for this,” “You can tell he had a great military life,” and “He’s always admirable.”
J-Hope enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April 2023 and was discharged on October 17th, 2024. He served as an assistant instructor during his military service.
Following his discharge, J-Hope resumed his solo music career and recently released the digital single “Killin’ It Girl (feat. GloRilla)”. The track entered the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for two consecutive weeks and continues to perform well on both domestic and international charts.
