Zico is teaming up with iconic Japanese duo m-flo for their 25th-anniversary project. Their new single, ‘EKO EKO’, will be released on June 18 at midnight.
According to KOZ Entertainment, Zico was invited to collaborate on m-flo’s ‘loves’ series—a long-running project where the group joins forces with various artists across genres. The upcoming track will also feature Japanese singer-songwriter eill, forming a unique trio that blends musical styles and languages.
m-flo first revealed the collaboration via social media on June 14, describing the session as a “one-of-a-kind cross-genre, cross-language project.” A photo of Zico, VERBAL and Takui of m-flo, and eill drew buzz among fans eager to hear the result of this cultural fusion.
‘EKO EKO’ continues the tradition of the ‘loves’ series, which began in the early 2000s and includes past collaborations with global artists. Notably, BoA (‘the Love Bug’, 2004) and Wheesung (‘Love Me After 12AM’, 2006) are among the Korean artists who have previously participated in the series.
Zico expressed deep respect for the project, saying, “It’s an honor to be featured on an m-flo album—I’ve been a fan since I started making music. I hope people of all ages and tastes can enjoy this track.”
m-flo added, “We’ve worked closely with Zico and eill to shape this song with sincerity. It’s a true ‘m-flo loves’ collaboration with our signature touch.”
This marks another milestone in Zico’s string of collaborative successes in 2025. He recently featured on ASH ISLAND’s ‘It's okay’ and Giriboy’s ‘My Job is Cool’, and served as the executive producer for BOYNEXTDOOR’s fourth mini album ‘No Genre’, showcasing his growing influence in both performance and production.
