Yoo Jae Suk has just revealed the surprising reason why his friendship with actor Song Joong Ki has grown more distant lately.
On the latest episode of Yoo Jae Suk’s YouTube show Pinggyego (Just An Excuse), Yoo Jae Suk hosted special guest Lee Hyori. While the two reminisced, Lee Hyori mentioned her connection with famous actor Song Joong Ki, and explained that he had even made an appearance on her husband Lee Sang Soon’s radio show. She stated, “We got close around that time [while filming Running Man]. Afterward, he even appeared on my husband’s radio show. He’s very kind and friendly.”
Lee Hyori asked if Song Joong Ki had appeared on Yoo Jae Suk’s show Pinggyego yet. Yoo Jae Suk admitted that he had not, and joked that Lee Hyori should arrange for him to guest star. Lee Hyori agreed, saying “Joong Ki really should appear on the show…”
Looking into the camera, Yoo Jae Suk then addressed Song Joong Ki directly, joking that he would have to appear on the show now: “Joong Ki, did you hear that? Hyori-noona called you out.”
Then, Yoo Jae Suk revealed why his friendship with Song Joong Ki has grown more distant over time. “We used to be in contact much more often. But ever since he got married and everything, it feels too awkward to reach out.”
Yoo Jae Suk explained that with Song Joong Ki now being remarried and currently raising two children, his life was probably much different now, making it too difficult to reach out to him. Yoo Jae Suk also didn’t want to interrupt Song Joong Ki’s busy life.
Song Joong Ki got remarried in 2023 to his wife Katy Louise Saunders. The couple is now raising their son and daughter, while living in Italy.
